This Privacy Policy explains how The Sitters Club LLC (“we,” “us,” or the “Club”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider).
• Profile information — details you add, such as your photo, bio, age, city, and, for families, your children’s first names and ages.
• Booking information — availability, bookings, and related details.
• Payment information — processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles it securely.
• Ratings — private feedback members leave after bookings, visible only to Club administrators.
• Usage information — basic technical data needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

• To operate the Service — create accounts, match Parents and Sitters, and manage bookings.
• To process membership subscriptions and booking fees.
• To communicate with you (approvals, booking confirmations, reminders, and support).
• To maintain trust and safety, and to review applications.

3. How we share information

• With other members, for bookings — when a booking is made, the Parent and Sitter can see each other’s relevant profile details (name, photo, and, for families, kids’ names/ages) so they can care for and coordinate the booking.
• With service providers — Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and our hosting/database providers (Vercel and Supabase), only as needed to run the Service.
• For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of members.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Children’s information

Families may provide limited information about their children (such as first names and ages) so Sitters know who they’ll be caring for. This information is provided by the parent or guardian. The Service is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

5. Data retention and security

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Your choices

You can review and update your profile at any time from your dashboard. To access, correct, or delete your information, or to close your account, contact us at hello@thesitters.club.

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you securely logged in and to operate the Service.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
